The Innisfil Spartans are proud to announce that former NHL’er and local Barrie native Matt Beleskey will be joining our staff as an Advisor to Hockey Operations.

Matt Beleskey played locally in Barrie during his minor hockey with the formerly Barrie Iceman AAA program. He would then go on to play JR A in Collingwood before eventually joining the Belleville Bulls of the Ontario Hockey League.

After 2 successful seasons, he would ultimately be drafted by the Anaheim Ducks 112th overall in the 2006 NHL entry draft. Matt would play 12  seasons in the NHL for the Anaheim Ducks, Boston Bruins and New York Rangers.

Matt will play an integral role for our players development both on and off the ice. As someone who has played at the highest level, he will be a great resource for the team and the organization moving forward. The addition of Matt will be very big for our organization as we move forward in our quest to become a competitive JR Hockey program.
